Supporting companies for research projects in the fields of agri-food, creative industry, ICT, health and biotechnology,  ΠΕΠ Ήπειρος 2014-2020

Program information

Eligible program KAD

The Ministry of Economy and Development announced the announcement of the Action "Support to companies for research projects in the fields of agri-food, creative industry, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), health and biotechnology" within the Operational Program  "Epirus" 2014-2020, which contributes to Specific Objective 1: "Development of collaborations between research institutions and companies in the Region".

The main objective of the Action is to support research and development projects of products and / or services in companies operating in the  Epirus Region  in the following ways:

(i) through the possibility of forming business cooperation schemes with appropriate academic and research centers in the context of medium-term research consortia, or

(ii) by companies which may carry out such actions either through a contract with research organizations or with their research departments, in the areas included in RIS3 of the Epirus Region.

 

The proposals that will be submitted concern the following items:

  • Production, standardization and certification of new cheese products and corresponding processes produced through traditional cheese-making methods.

  • Development of new products in the field of specialized foods from products of the plant and animal capital of the Region except for cheese-making.

  • Development of applied research for processing companies in the field of utilization of by-products and by-products.

  • Development of applied research for food processing companies and modern certification systems of their local origin.

  • Improving the health conditions of livestock (poultry farms, dairies, farms, sheepfolds).

  • Development of internationally competitive pharmaceutical products, functional foods and cosmetics based on the flora of the region.

  • Study and development of prognostic, diagnostic and therapeutic indicators (generally biomarkers), study / development / application of non-invasive diagnostic methods.

  • Development of innovative products and applications with digital content, such as mobile applications and sensors / biosensors, as well as the development of easy-to-use diagnostic methods, the presence of harmful and toxic substances, toxicity assessment and bio-imaging applications, information technology and data management.

  • Development of innovative ICT products and services with emphasis on strengthening and supporting research and innovation of companies operating in the fields of Culture, Tourism and Creative Industries.

 

In these areas, the proposals to be submitted should fall into the following category:

  • Aid for research and development projects (no. 25 of EU Regulation 651/2014), where the supported part of the research and development project must fully fall into one or more of the following categories: industrial research, experimental development, feasibility studies.

 

Each transaction may concern either only one of the above  categories, or a combination of several.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In the case of the products listed in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, experimental development up to the prototype stage is possible. The testing of new products or processes in representative environments of real operating conditions and the adaptation of technological and research solutions to production, if it concerns a product produced which falls under Par. I of the Treaty can not be financed by the ERDF and therefore under this call, while if the product produced does not fall under Par. I of the Treaty then it is possible to finance it from the ERDF and therefore the framework of this call. The products of Annex I of S.L.E.E. are listed below in the newsletter.

Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries  of action are:

  • Businesses that are active or will be active, until the time of payment of the aid, in the Region of Epirus, have an eligible KAD and have closed at least one annual financial year.

  • Research and Technology Bodies: Any entity with research activity in Greece.

 

Eligible costs

  • Staff costs: researchers, technicians and other support staff to the extent that they are employed on the project.

  • Costs of instruments and equipment, to the extent and for how long they are used for the project.

  • Costs for contract research, know-how and patents purchased or obtained by licensing from external sources, as well as costs for consulting and equivalent services used exclusively for the project.

  • Additional overheads and other operating costs, including the cost of materials, supplies and related products, that are a direct result of the project.

  • Costs of conducting the feasibility study

The total budget  Public Expenditure of the call is  € 6,150,000.  The Public Expenditure budget of each project depends on the intended research object. Projects will be funded at public expense up to  € 300,000  and if 2 companies or more participate, they will be funded  with public expenditure up to € 500,000

 

The total budget of the research project, including that of the Research Bodies should be adjusted according to the constraints mentioned in the table below:

Timetable

 

The duration of implementation of the projects, depending on the object, is  up to 3 years.  

 

The start date for the electronic submission of Funding Applications to the State Aid Information System is set for Tuesday 25 July 2017 at 12.00 with a closing date of  Thursday, October 26 at 14:00.
